FIELD EXPERIENCE · ENTERPRISE NETWORK

A multi-site network, a shared workflow.

For a global multi-site client, network management relied on several tools and knowledge held by engineers. The project described in the TITANS brief brought planning, configuration and operation together through ArchiFlow.

The starting point: fragmented knowledge

The public account describes an environment using Visio diagrams, spreadsheets, IPAM tools and SSH sessions. Each tool supplied part of the picture, while incidents escalated to engineers. The challenge was to connect existing information into a process for understanding network state and acting within assigned responsibilities.

What the platform connected

ArchiFlow was used to design, configure and operate the network across sites and vendors. The project connected documentation and operational work in a shared framework. The account emphasizes connections around the network rather than claiming that every existing system was replaced.

Connection to the enterprise environment

The brief describes an on-premises deployment connected to monitoring, ticketing and CMDB systems. Those are characteristics of this project. A new implementation requires an assessment of products, versions and interfaces before agreeing which connections and operating permissions are appropriate.

The workflow reached the support desk

The account describes first-line support handling incidents through the shared framework. A significant organizational aspect is the division of work: which actions support staff can perform, which remain with engineering and which situations require escalation to another owner.

What to take into a new project

A useful question for another organization is how its network view connects to incident handling, rather than whether it can copy a configuration. Identify where support staff must search for context or wait for engineers, then choose one workflow whose responsibilities and performance can be evaluated over time.

Assessing your network

A practical starting point is a representative site, a recurring incident type and a map of existing management tools. Compare the current and proposed workflows and agree on approval and verification. This project provides context for that discussion; scope and capabilities depend on the new client’s environment.

Where does your support team need more context?

Review one incident workflow and the context its operators need.
